Slow, soft steps in steady flow,
On winding lamplit roads,
Beneath Orion’s careful gaze,
A violet night bestowed.
As all that live in light and day,
Find solitude in sleep,
We stroll beneath the pale moonlight,
And watch the foxes creep.
Iris petals wave and wean,
Amidst the Autumn gust,
As such our lost and trembling hands,
Seek solace they might trust.
If still we dare to bare our hearts,
In comforts warm embrace,
We risk the chance of losing all,
To Winter’s weathered face.
But now beneath these glistening stars,
And pomegranate skies,
We set our path in earnest,
So to every snow defy.
